Good choice, I had one for a year and thoroughly enjoyed it.
No real faults with mine, or real problem areas I can think of really.
Just enjoy the performance and amazing grip, especially when you nail it on these tight corner apexes.
And remember to watch these alloys on the kerbs !!

993 and 996 are, I believe, standard turbo bodies (i.e. wide bodied) without the rear spoilers. The 996 is a little more removed from the 993 in terms of similarity to the turbo bodied, but still similar. Also, with the 4 S the suspension and brakes are also upgraded to turbo spec - i think!

Tip #4 - get the sports exhaust!
4S has same body, suspension, wheels, brakes (red calipers), tyres, front spoiler as std, only differences from turbo are absence of rear wing and air scoops on rear arches. Also come with extra kit as std, namely metallic paint, leccy seats and speaker upgrade (or cheaper Bose)
small ali pack - 3 part horizontal dash strip / instrumetn surround and central air vents in ali finish (earlier cars it was the central hoop not the vent slats)
large ali pack - as above plus side vents and door speakers in ali finish plus a few bits of extra leather on dash
ali gear lever / handbrake - separate £400 option
ali centre console - this is what it sounds like yours has, ie no ali "pack" - the door openers are ali finish as std on all 996
Thanks folks , one more thing , i'm just about to insure through Porsche direct but just put a quote in to confused and Admiral have come up £300 cheaper. Has anyone had any experience of being insured with Admiral , are they any good if there is accident / stolen. any other companies i should try or that anyone would recommend ?
