This is probably the plain seat, two stripes on the bottom part:

There's this one, with one stripe crossing the bottom part, and shoulder support:

But there's also this one, with one stripe on the bottom part, but a thick waist support:

Here's a 993 4S interior, seems like the plain seats to me:

Thanks,
Kay

The 2nd and 3rd pics are of sports seats.

The 2nd pic was on 993s since 95ish, I think it coincided with the introduction of Varioram. A similar design is also used on 996s.

The 3rd pics were sports seats for earlier 993s, 964s and 3.2s and they are fantastic, why Porsche replaced them with the later version I don't know.

But one of the top seats has shoulder support (the second one) while the other doesn't (the first one).

They are not the same.

But the green (1st pic) and the red (last pic) are not the same seat. You seem to suggest they are (standard seats with comfort leather).

yes they look very 90's, and to me, they look the best of the lot, most comfortable looking, and exclusive.

What is the seat in the red car? if it is standard, why is it different than the green one (1st pic), which has 2 stripes on the bottom?

Finally, I just found these ones that also look different, what are they..:

Err, yes they are. Look closely.

The new pic you just added appears to be a standard seat with standard leather but it's not a great picture really.

FWIW - you will see 4S's and Turbo's with comfort seats - the sports seats were a no cost option though some numpties didn't want them!

Actually, here's a new twist:

in my original post: picture 3 and picture 4, which I believed to be the same, actually aren't (this time I'm sure). Look closely. These pics were supposed to represent the first sports seat. But they are different..

what do you think?

Kay

Sorry but for someone looking for a 993, this is becoming a headache !

The ones in the 3rd picture are the best if you are not of lardy proportions! They were the standard sports seats from way back, in fact I had these in my 3.2 SSE.

I dont think that the standard 993 Carrera RS sports seats are shown in any of the pictures, are they?

Comfort, yes
Lightweight, no, they would have been like this:

I've got the sports seats in mine, and they are the same as in the second pic [hard plastic backs].

If that's the case, then the standard leather wins by miles against the comfort leather, which appears too soft, wrinkled, and more easily scratchable. I've seen one on a 996, it was the only problem of an otherwise perfect C4 (other than it not being a C2), and it was scratched.

So here's the best order for me:
1- lightweight sports seats
1- early standard sports seats. At least it looks as good as it is supposed to be comfortable
2- later standard sports seats. Looks very sporty
3- standard leather seats
4- standard leather seats with comfort leather

I don't think there are non-leather porsches?

The standard C2 in the UK came with half leather - the sides and back of the seat are leather but the perforated panel in the middle is actually 'leatherette'.

Don't tell anyone though, as most people have "conveniently forgotten" this little piece of information.
