Sad question but I'm curious? (I mean the computer setting to make it "ding" at a given MPH incase it's some new Boxster specific thing).

Had it on 90 when I first got the car, soon grew tired and never used it since.

95mph - i find it quite useful as a reminder to be careful to be honest.

it sounds like the "fasten seatbelt" sound on a plane.

when i first got the car I set the warning to 60 and when people asked I used to say its the fasten seatbelt warning

I must have set it by mistake when I first collected my GT3 at around 60.

For about 40 mins I hated the car as it drove me nuts.

I must have sorted it by mistake also or the car got sick of me swearing at it....

Stupid device really.

Currently the rev limiter. Although I have sometimes set it at 93 when on motorway as a way of keeping below an actual 90 mph.

Surely if you want to keep to around 90 you just don't bother changing into 3rd.

90 mph for the one which beeps and puts a message on the dash board. 100 mph for the one on the sat nav which makes a louder noise + switches radio off for a moment etc etc.

Really? Oh dear. Must be a bit more careful (I'm getting a bit blase about 3-figure speeds on motorways.)

Oli
Hasten to add I don't have any kind of warning beep, buzz or message system on my aged fleapit of a Porsche.

92 not sure why but it does get rather annoying sometimes.... NOTE TO SELF: must get rid of it!

Im thinking of replacing it with a sports exhaust it would sound nicer when I get to 92 ;-)
