Looking at PXing my 1999 996 C2 Cab (Ocean Blue, grey leather, 48k, FPSH, usual extras) for a 996 Turbo Coupe pref in silver or black. I'm looking for a PX as I can't be arsed to try and sell it privately. I'd like to think I'd get around £25k for it?? If anyone knows of any decent turbos for sale in the SE (I'm in Essex) then any help would be appreciated. May also look at 997S's in Black/Seal Grey. Must be manual.

Thanks guys

Oh I love it, I'd like an X50 so shipping mine out privately will pave the way. And then if I can't find a nice X50 in time I'll just have to wait and get a 997tt instead.

Actually I'm off to an OPC this weekend looking at an 04 midnight X50...
edited to add: Actually I'll have had it a year come January 3rd.

Oh you know I'm so very tempted by that I really am. It'll save a pot of dough too but I just can't risk that unwarranted 25k engine going pop and the hit on resale value.

I'm not a rich city worker you know

Give them a call they really know their business,i know of at least 6 conversions on various cars with no problems over the last 3 years and much better performance..tt engines can handle the upgrade easily..or so dms reckonlaugh

Well the other thing is with the X50 car I'll have an even better basis for upgrading should I find that doesn't quite rip up the tarmac the way I'd like any more...

I'm really interested in finding out what this whole X50 thing is like Saturday when I take one for a hurl. Although dropping 10-15k more on a car that'll look identical to mine seems a bit peculiar

Can't help thinking larger turbos may equal steeper lag, and really the only thing I don't like about my turbo is the fairly sudden step at 3k. This is where the DMS thing sounds attractive too.

Theres very little lag with the upgrade, it just pulls a lot harder(up to 1 bar)and revs more like a n/a car..i drove a standard tt again the other day and it felt very flat in comparison...i think the x50's are more laggy than the standard cars as well.

Hmmm - You'd be right thnking that... X50's are a little bit laggy... but worth it.

Ah come on Ballcock, I was paying €2,000 TPFT on a Saab before I left Ireland! Most recent quote is for €1,500 on 911 in Dublin.
