Has anyone any recent experience of having any of the VDO dials reconditioned? Its a standard 964 tacho and I know the electrical connections to the tacho are OK as we've tried another one in its place.
E-mail me privately if anyone wants to name and shame

Thanks

You haven't given much of a clue in your post why it needs to be reconned.
Is it just sticking on start-up ?
Cn't you take it to bits and clean it ?

Its an intermittent fault. It seems to get a lot of condensation and the needle sticks. It seems to be worse after I've been driving for ten minutes or so. I was told its difficult to get at the bearing to do a DIY fix

Intermittent ?
Condensation usually upsets the pcb's.
Sounds like you've got a dry joint in there.

Sounds more like the speedo is US. They normaly die like that if someone has played with it. Remove check around the black bezel and the screws at the back of the speedo see if the pait has been cracked.
Or replace with another and see if its still happens.

Good luck
