For GT3 money, the choices are:-

911 GT3
Seriously tooled up Carrera S
Aston V8 Vantage
Jaguar XKR
Maserati Gransport
BMW M6
second hand Bentley Conti GT

Four seats would be nice, but its the thrill that really matters.

They aint going to give me demonstrators to find out. So, someone who knows, tell us!!!!

Well, I like to have something to be saving up for. The choice is very subjective, and so some subjective views would help me clear my ideas, preferably from someone who has driven a couple of the above.

I dont think that they are that far out on price, and I have a few negotiating tricks up my sleeve

No real 1st hand experience except 996 GT3, but for the thrills I'd go with :

1st GT3 - 996 version excellent thrills, new one better by all accounts
2nd CS - Tooled up with power hike could be pretty good, but still not a GT3
3rd AMV - Looks the business and apparently pretty involving to drive
4th XKR - Same as above but cheaper
5th M6 - Amazing engine apparently and decent handling
6th Mas - Pretty good engine but questionable handling ??
7th GT - Probably less on thrills but pretty good on comfort

Thats a fair consideration. Somehow a Ferrari has never appealed to me. Its the idea of the annual shagging, sorry, servicing, at the dealers.

What's to stop your kids sitting on the rear benches of the GT3, other than the Plod, that is?

Personally, I'd go for a Unigate Dairys milkfloat with a Rolls-Royce Avon Turbojet on the back.

A sensible chice for the city commute.

Well, I have driven none of these cars, and therefore feel perfectly qualified to recommend that you get the red one, unless there's a yellow one, in which case you should get that.

Any of the above.

That is so beautiful it hurts. I would have to do something about that flappy paddle gearshift though.

Aston V8 - for the sound
Jaguar XK8 - for the sound, and the fact its a Jag.
