Pulling my leg?

My car is in for a chip/milltek exhaust at a reputable specialist car outfit and they are doing the front rad change on my car too which Porsche stealer wanted £2300 for! He is doing it for a fraction of the cost.
My question is , the chip and zaust are on(its a 996 TT , non X50) and the rads are on , BUT apparently there is an air lock in the system or something and cannot be mechanicaly opened/released but have to be done electronicaly , is this true?
I ask simply because the car was due back Saturday gone and we are now looking at tomorrow/wed so im worried somethings happened to the car! lol
Bullshize or NOT?

The gearbox cooler can be operated with the machine but if you move it manually it will do same job can be done on a ramp...Ive done loads of radiators and they have never had a bleeding issue...does the specialist you use not have a porsche diagnostic machine ?
£2300 for radiators ?
£276 for outer radiators = £552
£245 for centre radiator
seals £10 max.
coolant top up £20 max.
Parts £827
Labour£105 P/H x 7hrs max!
£827 plus £735 = £1562 plus VAT =£1835.35
that is MAXIMUM PRICE!!!!
From me Parts £1107 plus v.a.t

Perhaps they mean the thermostat valve has to be opened electronically to release the air lock. This would probably normally be opened via a temp sensor when the car got to temperature; which is a catch 22 because with an airlock it might not be a good idea to get the engine to temperature to open the valve..!
I would imagine if there is no manual override they need to put a switching current across the valve to open it and release the trapped air.
I have no idea if that is correct, but thats my take on it from what you say...

That's a good explanation, and probably the most likely scenario, but how long does it take them to rig up a rheostat (or find a resistor of the correct value) and hook it up across the temperature sensor plug? I would imagine if there is no manual override they need to put a switching current across the valve to open it and release the trapped air.
