Well ......... It was 60 euro actually (sorry).
It's now just about one euro a litre here in Ireland.

95 octane though .

I'm going to try 'Bardahl octane booster' with my next fill .. Any wise words of advise?

"Dreamed I was an eskimo
Frozen wind began to blow
Under my boots and around my toes
The frost that bit the ground below
It was a hundred degrees below zero...

And my mama cried
And my mama cried
Nanook, a-no-no
Nanook, a-no-no
Dont be a naughty eskimo
Save your money, dont go to the show

Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said ho, ho
And the northern lights commenced to glow
And she said, with a tear in her eye
Watch out where the huskies go, and dont you eat that yellow snow
Watch out where the huskies go, and dont you eat that yellow snow"

Yep get your car on the ferry, get it over to blighty and treat it, amoungst other thinks to a tank full of the super duper 99ron stuff.

I have just tried Shell Vmax for the first time - I am sure I am imagining things but it feels bloody smooth

Without specific knowledge:

- Do make sure it isn't a benzene, lead or MMT based additive (or understand the implications)
- Don't get it on your hands, regardless
- Add it before you fill or mid-fill
- Don't expect miracles
- Do expect to have to use shed loads to bring the blended fuel upto 98 RON.

Crikey. I dont ever think I have ever seen 42mpg even when I have reset the trip computer whilst doing a steady 56mph grumpy

Thanks for the 'millars' advice .. I think that was mentioned to me before...

On the subject of benzine etc , I'm way out of my league here .. I'd appreciate as much info as possible on fuel additives , before I go buying the wrong stuff and my engine , she go KABOOOOOOM
