Can someone more intelligent than me please explain wheel off sets to me !!!

Failing that what 17 inch wheels fit on a 968 sport please.

I have a spare set of cup 2's from my 993 but think they have different off sets to my 968 , basically I need a second set of wheels for the 968 to put wet's on and need to know which other porsche wheels fit.

Thanks

I had 993 Cup 2 wheels on my 944S2, they were fine on the back, but had 7mm spacers on the front. I would imagine the 968 is identical to the 944.

Thanks for the reply guys I assume you had 7mm spacers to stop them fouling some part of the car ?

10 mm shouldn't cause too much of an issue at the front .... it would at the back though as my wheel's sit well into the arches.

Thanks

Are you sure that the front wheels are the same size as 968 wheels? I thought that 993 fronts were normally 7" whereas the 968 uses 7.5" fronts.

Offsets around 55 are no problem - I know as my old Sport had replicas with 55ish offsets.

The spacers on the front were for aesthetic reasons to increase the track, rather than to prevent fouling.
The wheels came from a bloke with a 993, so I have always assumed they were 993 items. I can check the offset if I go rummage around my dads garage loft over the weekend.

Of course it'll work. You can move up to 225 front rubber on the 7" rim. Unless you're using this for serious track use you won't really notice the loss of less than 20mm of tyre at the front should you decide not to move up to 225's. The classified section has a set of 968 cup 2's for sale right now (not mine) if you're really that concerned.

Unfortunatley its going to be used for fairly hard track work and then the Porsche club championship next year ..... well that's the plan

And the ones in the classifieds if they are the first advert they are 7.0j not 7.5j just called the guy

Thanks
