Please dont laugh but I saw a 964 RS with a roof rack carrying a set of wheels to Brands
and not wanting to trailer my GT3 to Porsche Speed events and the missus not to
happy having to travel in a support vehicle I was wondering could I tie my
race tyres to a roof rack and will it take the weight/height/area
the wheels are not heavy and I reckon I can poodle along at 70mph

are the roof racks just designed for skis ?

any help appreciated and please dont take the pi**

cheers

hehe

Make sure you stack them one on top of the other hehe

I'd have thought that the Tecquipment roof rack with a flat piece of board with the tyres strapped to it would be fine!

I googled for it and got a picture of some well stacked bird with her flaps showing....

Just off to "Trap 3" for a bit.

Thought that was what the rear wing was for... scratchchin

O/T, Hi Tim ,was admiring your car on Saturday at Cadwell (especially your wheels!). Was confused as to why you still had the radio in there, didn't realise you actually used it on the road!

Chris,

Ive done 34,000 in the RS and can hear the stereo
when its up to volume 21
I drive to all the events - I hate towing and mixing it with lorries
not many people drive to the events

Nervous -- get out in that Cobalt Blue beast on a track !
it wont bite you

Roofrack works well with bikes at 70MPH or so. I think the limit for the roofbars was 75Kg from memory but would get that confirmed with the spare parts dept at Reading before creating a GT3 convertible.

Tim I did that years ago with my 964 RS but if you were off to Spa or you could get all 4 wheels and tyresinto the car by removing the passenger seat putting the tyres in the car and then putting the seat in again upside down ontop of the 2 front tyres...

Hunter
I have no passenger seat in the car at the moment and can only get a
rear tyre beside me + the rear roll cage restricts any
access to the rear
+ where would the Mrs sit ?

cheers
