Yes, I have used them 5 weeks ago for a PPI on a 1988 Carrera which I had located nearby. I was dealing with David Joyce, who I believe leads their service department. All our dealings were over the phone (the seller delivered and picked up the car at the OPC).

I found them responsive and was happy with the analysis they did. I then bought the car and had it checked by a well-recommended independent in Chelsea (you guess which one...) and they confirmed the big picture.

In summary I was happy with what I got for the money

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply mate. It was David i spoke with on the phone too. My car is a 944 turbo so wasnt even sure they would have the knowledge on such old cars. Price quoted for full service and belts change wasnt much more than good specialist which suprised me!
might give them a go

Used them for a number of years; absolutely excellent. Very fair on servicing/warranty issues. Just provided me with lots of FOC advice on PCM/telephone install. David in particular is very good; very responsive, polite, helpful, etc; all the things you generally don't expect these days! Would only take my car there rather than an Indy (not wishing to be controversial)!!

Thanks for the replies guys, exactly the sort of feedback i wanted. you hear so many bad things about OPC's i was edging towards using a specialist but for this one big service/belts job i might well take it to OPC sutton.

cheers

Someone was telling me a pretty scary story about an OPC "near Birmingham" that is on the Porsche Club Forum, which I checked out - "Should Buying A Porsche Be this Hard?".

His problems have been with sales not service, but might be worth having a look.

You could always try PPC on the A45 Cov-brum road - a very good independant who really know their older pork...

Even I'm confused now....

The article mentioned has been written by myself and is still ongoing..
I'm saying its NOT Sutton Coldfield, so please feel free to make your own assumptions..scratchchin I've been advised not to name the OPC as yet.

Sutton Coldfield have always been OK to deal with and have readily offered the 10% discount on parts.

Its the PCGB club night on the 21st, so might be worth killing two birds with one stone...

Thanks GWP, im seriously thinking of using sutton coldfield. they were very helpful on the phone and actually quoted me a very good price. i havent asked about PCGB discount, if they honour that too even better. Main thing is they know their stuff on older porkers, fingers crossed i get good service from them.

thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated
