Shite Kc , be happy for the man!!!

Congrats .. I've found Guildford good .. I assume they're giving you a 12 month OPC warranty with it ..

Ask for a free umbrella ... I got one there without buying anything!!!!

Edited to say , ask for Darryl , he seems straight up.

And , don't let Kayc bother ya .. He's normally a happy , jovial character , the bell of the ball and all that ... Just got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning hehe

WTF has that got to do with anything?

He's probably paid the going rate for buying a car from the OPC network. Like many on here I've heard too many tales of fraud, things going wrong, badly crashed and repaired vehicles etc to take the risk buying privately and giving some stranger a cheque for £60k+.

DAZ
(PS if the car has a manual gearbox you may like to consider upgrading the plastic gearshift linkeage, detaills in my profile Aug/Sept04 from memory)

Two turbos. One on each cylinder bank. Both begin to kick in from about 2.5k revs upwards. Although with clever mapping there is more of a gradual spread of power than you might expect.

Bottom line is i love the guys on this forum..but novices should realise that the brand itself is taking the pi??The cars are good but they aint worth a 10k hit as you drive off the forecourt..ive done that now 3 or 4 times and im not prepared to do it anymore..dealers are ridiculous coz everthing that is good when you buy it is worth nuck all when you sell it .please listen to hardened loss makers like me coz if we stick together they wont take the pi?? anymore.

Good grief - Porsche sales guys have got a tiny range of products to learn compared with sales people in other industries. What a lazy oaf. I'd insist on dealing with someone else - and tell his Sales Manager why. In return for taking a huge amount of your cash he can't even give you accurate info on even the most basic things. Enjoy a fabulous car - almost as good as a GT3

If anybody is interested the car is on the OPC network still. Basalt Black on a OO plate with 35k on the clock...they put the price up by 2k because of the expensive prep to get the car ready, but got it at the original price because I had already seen it...They have replaced the cars front and back brakes/discs....got a decent spec as well i think. Just agreed to have the Zymol treatment as well.

perhaps if EVERY (see Nerv we can all use capitals now and again hehe) one of us stuck together we would have half a chance.

We wouldn't and most of us expect a shafting - we are in a buy and sell economy - if we are selling and don't like the price we are being offered then we go elsewhere.

I firmly believe that most franchised dealers were trained at the Dick Turpin school for Highway Robbery, however, how different are they from any other prestige dealer, or infact a Ford? Is this just brand snobbery - I never ever bought a Porsche because the residuals were good. Yes I would like the car to be worth enough to pay my baloon at the end of the finance but I am not daft enough to assume that the car is not going to cost me a packet full of cash, exactly the same as if I had paid full whack for a top spec Mondeo at £22k only for it to be worth £11k 9 months later.

Simple message is that ALL cars swallow cash because of dealer mark ups. Is that right? perhaps not but if we don't want to put up with it then we don't buy cars...

Just to wade in with my 2p (i found it down the back of the sofa)

My last car was a Lexus - famed for their service.

Well, the trade-in I got when I bought my car wasn't great, infact it just paid off the HP outstanding after 18 months ownership (but i needed shot of it). I paid top whack for a good car and was happy.

I did go back, after giving the same dealership all the services for the last 4 years, plus being known by the sales team...

They offered me the worst (well, on par with the worst) trade in offer against a 30k car on their forecourt.

So, as was said above - its par of the course in the car sales buisness, its why car salesmen have a bad reputation - but at the end of the day, you pay for the conveince of the 'trade in' - if money matters that much, you sell privately and put up with the timewasters and tire kickers...

which is what i did.

Ps got a bit carried away there.

Well done on your purchase - I am sure you will be very happy together (you lucky git...)

Lots more posts please about how you are finding the car.

As you have the TT you can blissfully ignore any threads started by Ballcock with "RMS" in the title

The only question i ask is why you have paid them 20% more than they think it is worth?
