Forgive me - I don't own a porsche yet but thought I'd post this on here.

I have never seen such commitment at those speeds - he is on the edge for pretty much the whole lap! Fully in control or on the edge of disater??

Wonderful car...

SHOCKER! Someone who hasn't heard of Stefan Roser and the Faszination video!!!!

I thought everyone here knew about this, the guy and the car are both legends

I've just had the Faszination Plus DVD set from RUF delivered and it's brilliant to see it in higher resolution than the bootlegs floating around the internet. It's pretty much all the RUF gear I'm going to be able to afford (along with a RUF baseball cap, of course) biglaugh

Fully in control to the extent that his lap-times are actually piss poor because he's not trying to go that fast. He's gone beyond fast, and is in a comfort zone behind the wheel of that thing that allows him to arse around with it. It worked, too. How well known would the video be if he did a nice, neat and quick lap?

Love the way he kicks the steering wheel on the way in to promote oversteer, but just how much oversteer and at what speeds? Wouldn't want to be footing the tyre bill!

Skilled or Lunatic?

A little from column A, a little from column B.

Top video though, one of my faves, on the run from the exit of Bergwerk down to the 180 degree corner before the Karrussell, check out the steering inputs over the bumps at what must be 160 ish towards the end? Frantic to say the least!!

Forgive my "Name that 'Ring Corner" lack of knowledge, but you know where I mean.

Ha Ha! This video clip is starting to 'own' me!! I keep going back to it! I better buy the DVD now.

Sorry for ignorance here guys, but now I know who this man is I hail him as a driving god!! bow

Like I said I've not got into a Porsche yet and have a very basic appreciation of performance cars. I used to have a BMW 330i and enjoyed the thrill of getting it a bit out of shape on a wet roundabout at night with plently of room to recover the resulting tank-slapper which normally caught me out!!

But to be getting a car out of shape, AT THAT SPEED, on a track that narrow is truly insane!! Genius.

Was the Yellow Bird not heavily turbo charged? Would slight throttle lag make this sort of control even more astounding??

One day, I will have a 911 on my drive - I simply HAVE to!

My friends, enjoy your machines! beer

I thought Kesselchen? heading up the hill from Bergwerk. then Angstkurve (aka Mutkurve) is the tighter left-hander at the top of Kesselchen, then you go down a bit to Klostertal (which is the corner before the Karussell).

Yep its twin turbocharged with aprrox 469bhp (probably a lot more) Also the gear box is a dog leg 5 speed

Stefan is one of the most modest people i have ever met. He took me out in mine round an airfield and i was just gobsmacked. I told him in no uncertain terms that i thought he was wonderful. To which he replied...its not me its the car. (!)

all the best

Adam, every time I see one of your posts I cant help but
think what a lucky, lucky man you are (whilst I don't doubt that hard work
played a very large part I choose to ignore this in the interest of envy)

Well I'm certainly no expert, but I would say Kesselchen is the series of fast open (mainly) left handers going uphill after Bergwerk, then Angstkurve (fairly hard left); then Klostertal (kink right); then Steilstrecke (a hard right where the disused straight heads up the hill); then Karussell.
