Just for my understanding, does the 997 range go like this:

C2
C2S
C4
C4S
TT

And I assume on each of those you can then get bolt-ons like cab & tip? (NOT THAT I WOULD EVER CONSIDER CAB OR TIP!!!!!!!! )

Can someone put approximate prices on those and also explain what one gets with the 'S'.

Thanks

C2 is the usual 2 wheel drive with a 3.6 325 HP engine, full leather and 18" alloys as standard.

C2S is 3.8 engine, 2 wheel drive, 355 HP four exhausts pokeing out the back and I stand to be corrected but 19" alloys and uprated brakes(?)

Not sure of interior spec.

C4 is the same as C2 but I would imagine with Silver brake calipers rather than black for the C2 and red of the C2S

C4S is the 3.8 wide bodied jobbie based on the C2S but with meatier brakes

I think......

Ah, so there is a wide body version. I thought it was just me and my funny eyes!

How much wider is it? Are they on all the C4S's or is it an option?

Vehicle price (incl. VAT)
911 Carrera £57878
911 Carrera S £64928
911 Carrera 4S Coupé £69048

Gulp.......

Pikey - if you trade your Cayman in now - as per Soovy996's earlier thread you can get trousered by your OPC (imagine lots of sucking teeth, "sorry sir but there are a lot of Caymans about..."....."not much demand for them at the moment".....)

And hey presto you find yourself being told your pristine pride and joy is only worth £30k

I think the 2S and 4S are both wide bodied this time round.

It's the '4' bit that makes them widebodied this time, not the 'S'. C2 and C2S are narrow, C4 and C4S are wide.

According to the Porn (Porsche) web site, the C2S is 1808mm wide, the C4S is 1852mm.

I am not aware of an option to, say, upgrade the C2 to the wide body. I suspect that would be akin to asking the dealer if a convertible Cayman will ever be produced.....

(definately no offence intended!)

I've never liked the body width reflector strip on the back of the C4S, makes it look like it's got a really fat arse. Whereas the Turbo looks ok.

Oh Ok...I was looking at them at the weekend and the 2 and the 2S are definitely different though - even down to the rear lights - I'm 95% sure of this...

Just checked on the Porsche site and they are the same width, very odd. They were DEFINITELY different.

Don't forget the jewel in the crown - the 997 GT3 (and GT3RS) cool

Mind you, I also think a basic C2, Coupe, 6-spd, with a few sensible options is the perfect 911. Much else is just frippery.

I know if I ask the answer will be shocking!

Movement on the Cayman is likely to be about this time next year. One could say I start my research early

So what's the answer? There is NO wide body?

Hence why does one think there might be? Was there one before or is it a lighting / wing / wheel tiny difference that gives a different perspective.

PS. I wouldn't be allowed to get a 4 due to the lack of front space. The Cayman's cavenous front has set the scene as the minimum

Deffo the C2 and C2S are standard width, the 4 and 4S are wider.

The 997 4S has no reflector strip.

2 and 2S the same. There's a grey S and a black 2 in Guildford that look comlpetely different. The salesguy just told me that someone said the same yesterday too.

ing weird.
