After looking at many Carrera 4S's I have finally purchased 8 months after my search started.

Th car is a 53 Plate (2004) model in Arctic Silver / Black leather with all the toys such as PCM2, Bose, Carbon Pack, Alu Dials / Hand Break and Gearknob and is mint all round. It also has 2 months remaining on an OPC Warranty and was serviced only 2 months ago...bonus.. and yes I will renew it for sure.

Anyhow I have had a look round it (Kicked tyres) and driven it and all seems well however I would like an inspection on the car prior to picking up and the guy is cool with that.

The car is based in Essex...can anyone help with a company to do a basic inspection.

Cheers Matt

I believe a guy called Peter Morgan is highly recommended. I don't know his details but a trowel through the forum should elict something.

Thanks chaps. Search function is not working at the moment. Has anyone used Peter Morgan ?. To be honest I have checked the paper work with OPC Colchester and they have confirmed the service history.

I have done an HPI which is all fine and checked the brakes all round, front pads need doing in 3-4k which I know as OPC said they needed doing in 6k on last service May 06. I just want someone to look under it for signs of crash damage and then I am happy as everything else is covered under the warranty.

Why not just pay £200 for an OPC inspection?

I have used Peter Morgan and he is very good. The report goes into unbelievable detail. PM me if you want to see my report to get an idea of what to expect.

Decided I am going to book it in with his local OPC for an 111 point inspection to act as a PPI and then it it needs anything doing they can do it under warranty or if not covered we will sort out the price etc and get it done.

Update..

Chap faxed me last service receipt..notes read..Rear main oil seal sweating and front pads need doing in 6k.

Went into OPC Colchester for a PPI and they said the RMS needs replacing and have done this under the OPC Warranty with the new seal...no other points at all..has a clean bill of health.

I asked about the clutch with the rms and he said it was fine and didn't require replacement..result !

When I said the last service mentioned the pads he said nope they were fine and we always suggest replacement even when they have 60-70% left as most owners get us to change them !!

So thumbs up for Colchester for doing it so quickly...did it the day after I called to book it in.

Going to pick it up on thursday fingers crossed....

aka, "we always suggest replacement even when they have 60-70% left as most owners are too stupid to question why we are ripping them off, and we are quite happy to admit to doing it too"
