Do you want harder or softer?
Road or track or both?
I've got no ideas...just interested.

I dont really get a lot of time to track the car so slightly softer to eliminate the bounce at the front end.
As ever you get lots of different opinions. 993 RS front struts are a common suggestion, a Specialist has suggested the Cup suspension (even though I would have thought this to be harder than RS?) or change the whole lot for some KW or similar.
Just trying to get a feel for what other owners have or have tried!?

I'm on KW's - set up for the Nordschleife - which is pretty good for road use too (i.e. not too hard, but probably too much camber). They're ace.
If you dont mind me asking...how much was your KW set up?
What variant do you use?

Also try PSI for RSR H&S dual spring set up. Very good on track and the helpers do the business off track.

I have a vague memory of about 4K Euros parts, fitting and setup.
I have Manthey spec KW's - I don't know specifically what they are.
I have a Full KW suspension kit fitted that's similar to Joe911's but I bought it directly from KW. It's designed for the 964RS and fits the standard RS monoball top mounts. Fitted and set up myself. It's more compliant for sure and is great for the tracks i tend to get to (brands, Spa and ring mostly) and better on road. The kit cost me £1564 ( feb this year). The part number is 35271013 it's a variant 3 type system.

Sounds interesting. Keeeping the standard top mounts is a plus as changing these would be expensive I'm sure.
this is something you have to be mindfull of when changing. There are not many options when trying to use the standard RS monoballs. The KW set up allows this, you may find other set ups don't and you have to then factor in new top mounts. This is true of the cup suspension (i think??!!) and of the 993 front strut, you may have to buy the complete unit including the top mount. I did research this at the time but my memory is cloudy as to exactly what fits and what does'nt.

I am not familiar with the cost of the new top mounts required.
If this is the case then maybe the KW would make more sense.
Do you find it much improved over the standard RS set up?
For me the car feels more compliant and able to soak up the bumps without feeling noticably softer than the standard suspension, keeping the monoballs helps here i think. I am not skilled enough to fully appraise how much better the car is on track but the car does seem to inspire more confidence when braking and turning in but I would not say there is a night and day change, the standard parts are very good. I did do a sort of back to back test with a freinds standard RS and my car was slightly quicker according to an onlooker but this was'nt in any way very scientific!!!
My C2 runs the H+R supercup suspension package and while it's great on track it is a little stiffer than the stock RS suspension so might not be what you're after. TBH I don't really notice a problem with lack of compliance on the road as such but braking over bumpy roads isn't good, especially in the wet.

Has anybody driven a 964RS with 993RS front struts fitted?
Yes - that's what mine had before I went to KW's.
The 993RS front struts dramatically reduce the front end bounce over bumps (and thus the tendency to bounce off the road in a corner) - but the full KW setup is miles better. I'd suggest that the standard setup is better for UK tracks than the 993RS struts - but the 993RS struts better for road use.

I very strongly agree - you get way more control under braking on uneven surfaces (i.e. pretty much everywhere) - the standard (or 993RS front strut) setup kicks into ABS quite easily whereas the KW setup doesn't and so you can brake more effectively.
