Sorry but it's a boring day at work....
Happened to be reading through my insurance policy (just received through the mail) and had a "what if.." moment.
I have a two month old 997C2S with full one year GAP insurance (not through Porsche thank god..). The insurance is already paid so that's a sunk cost as well. In theory I could drive around for 364 days and, ahem, 'arrange' for the car to go missing on the 364th day (not too hard nowadays..). I'd then simply claim on the gap insurance for the full value and save a year's worth of depreciation...
I think I'm a genius...!!

I'm probably going to get caned by the banker boys for this but..
Could you not get a mortgage top up for 'home improvements' to the tune of 80k over 30 years and pay it off in 5 .. The bank would hate you for paying so little interest .. But do you really want to see your bank manager smiling!!??
You'd also end up owning it outright with no balloon when it comes time to trade.

You'll then get three years of porridge and all the anal sex you can handle thrown in for free when you get done for Obtaining Pecuniary Advantage by Deception.
Good call, Ballcock old son
