very different I think - Boxster is one big speaker tube - 911 uses 2 smaller units

actually, im sure its just one tube in the 911, that fits in the gap behind the rear seats. .. .. .. can anyone shed any light on this?

I can't be 100% sure but I am pretty certain (99.9%) that the units are completely different.

If you go to www.design911.com, follow the link for interior accessories and then sound package you will find a photograph of a Boxster bose sub designed to sit below the wind deflector.

this looks completely different to the bose sub in my 996 - if you want me to send you a photo of by 996 sub then let me know and I will do the necessary but they look completely different.

I think your right c2dtg, the one I saw at OPC nottingham looked different. . . . .

i have a early 996 with the hifi upgrade (before the bose system was availible) so its got the external amp etc and more speakers etc but I feel it needs somthing extra, only a little and after another bit of research today the sound is good but the rear could do with some extra ooomph.

if anyone knows if the 986 boxster rear bose unit will fit let me know!!!

please

I have a spare straw if you'd like a clutch

seriously have you seen the Bose sub in a Boxster? - it custom fits below the wind deflector and between the seats at shoulder height which, without Bose, is a cubbyhole which exactly stores the deflector.

No such space exists in a 911

If you read the Bose information it will tell you that each system is a surround sound system made for individual vehicle models to give a unique sound dependant upon the shape and sound characteristics of each cabin. By that I would perhaps draw the conclusion that they are not compatible
