Well I am now one of the fold....sold my Lotus and have bought a nice 996.

Very differnt beast to the lotus, and my god its fast!!!

Anyway, my 996 does not have a phone kit, and I have been looking in to aftermarket solutions. Has anyone had a Parrot Bluetooth Car Kit fitted to their car?

A mate of mine has one in his Jag and says it's the bee's knees.

Any experance here?

Thanks in advance

I have one (Parrot CK3100 LCD) in my 944s2. Works great and is very easy to use. Does crash every now and then (very occassional) though, but I think the problem is with my phone crashing the bluetooth link rather than with the parrot system.

You will find a lot of GT2 owners have them and for some inexplicable reason the connections seem to crash (backwards through a hedge) on wet and windy days

I have one, very pleased.
Only bugs: drops the line quite often, and sometimes does voice recognition for no reason.
Any good auto electrician should be able to install.

I have a CK3000 in my Boxster S, works fine except for the dodgy speaker (don't forget you can't wire it into the car system if you have a MOST bus, as is the case on my 2003 car.)

Cheers

you will be fine with that model as it is iso connectors ..

As long as the system is not amplified you can use cars audio speakers for telephone...

if amplified you will need an external speaker....extra £12-£15

911addict - mine used to drop lots of calls too, till I read that its usually caused by the system thinking its heard you say the "hang up" voice command during your conversation (in the same way that it sometimes starts voice command when you haven't actually said the voice recognition command when you haven't). I tried turning off the "hang up" voice command and its never done it since.

They STILL haven't fixed this as a problem? Ferkin 'ell. I've been wanting to put an aftermarket system in my car for three years now - STILL WAITING!

Keggers,
great input, thanks will try deleting 'hang-up' and see if improves.

Yes, mine also does voice command when it shouldn't. Did you get around that problem?

I've fitted the 3100 to about 8 cars now (all the family). I have it in all our families cars, including my 2003 C2 with Bose. You can get around the bose, just by installing a seperate speaker - it still uses the phone mute to mute the stereo. The system is very easy to install if you're so minded. Have had no problems with mine - the later versions automatically sync with your phones address book.
Can't recommend them enough.
Best price I could get was with www.blueunplugged.com but they actually seem to have gone up recently......!

Anyone help here please ? Just purchased a tom tom sat nav. The lead which fits into the cigarette lighter socket is too long and keeps falling out. Is there some sort of adapter I can use ?
