I'd be interested in your opinions on pricing my car to sell privately.

It's a 996 C2 coupe
1998 R
80k miles
stereo upgrade
sunroof
midnight blue
grey leather
clear lenses
17" wheels
New discs all round
New clutch
New d/m flywheel
FOPCSH
10 months extended warranty remaining
11 months Mot
and a new gearbox (to be fitted under warranty at OPC tuesday)

I was thinking £23k......what do you think?

With the warranty, all the new bits, and clear lenses I recken you'd get a bit more.

23k should be a steal with replacing the disks all round opc warranty etc, id prolly put it at 25 ONO and see what interest you get.

Agree. If the car is generally in good nick then £23k looks a bit light to me. I'd go for at least £25-£26k.

There's a few I'm interested in but black seems harder to find.... Unfortunately Nervy I can't do what you do and buy my new cars first then worry about shifting the old one(s)

I prefered it when the numbers were the low 20's rather than these mid 20's I'm hearing...

but thanks for the mail Dave.

guess the only downside are the 17" wheels. Easily rectified though. How come it needs a new gearbox?

Bearings have failed in the original one apparently.

Apparently they sometimes jsut replace the bearings but they're doing the whole transmission which I guess is a good thing.

Just my 2p worth I bought mine just over 1 month ago and it is almost the same spec (same colour, 72k mileage, clear lens, sunroof ) but no warranty and 18 inch wheels. It was listed for £24k and I eventually bought it for £23,200 in order for it to get the evil oil leak thingy (not mentioning the name) done to give it the warranty. I looked around for a good 6mths and was happy that I picked up a good deal.

I reckon you should put it up at £25,500 and accept around £24,500-£25,000 for it. I'm, assuming excellent paintwork/interior and full OPC history....

Good Luck !
