3.2 carrera rear speakers ...

Very quick question... the original rear speakers on the shelf in my '89 Carrera are beyond dire.

I need a reasonable sound for Eurohoon but nothing silly money ... Can i just buy a reasonable pair of 6"x9"s and make the hole bigger and slot them in? I presume I can but just checking before I ask for it to be done.

They will go in Al but you may need a spacer ring above the shelf as there isn't much depth below to house the magnet. Got them in mine but to be honest they dont give a lot of bass as there is no enclosure to generate any from. But they will sound better than what is in at the moment I guess.
