Anyone hired a Boxster in the South of France?

Flying down to Nice on Saturday for week (working unfortunately). However, I then plan to stay down there for a couple of days and soak up some sun and Routes Nationale. Can anyone recommend a hire company with cars worth hiring? Better still, can anyone lend me a 911 Cabrio or Boxster for a couple of days while I'm down there? (OK, I admit I'm pushing it with that last bit.)

So you've noticed I'm between 911s at the moment. The 997 was sold to help pay for the house I'm buying, hence my desire for something with a flat 6 for the weekend. As much as I love the GTI, I'm counting the days until I can get back into a car with the engine in the right place...

I can't say that I've ever hired anything out of Nice, but the Europcar depot in Marseille has a list of different stuff that they can get in, so I imagine its the same for Nice.

From what I remember there was a MINI Cooper S, SLK, SL and I'm 80% sure there was a Boxster on the list.

FYI had to take the only thing left at Nice Airport, Europcar last June ,Audi Convertible £800 for 5 days ..........they did have Merc for £1200!!! Daft i thought !!!It was only to save the cab fare to the Hotel!

You can get a lot of good stuff out of Nice airport of you order ahead, try also Sixt they are pretty good at the Nice depot, I used them several time.

In any case, there are also lots of specialized sports car and exotica rental companies around Nice, Cannes, St Tropez if you google, they will deliver a Carrera GT for you at the airport if that's what you want. This crew an many other will make cars available for you in Nice www.eliterent.com/rent-luxury-car/Porsche.htm

A Boxster should be available easily.

Actually, www.sixt.fr has special deals for holiday cars at Nice airport, it is one of the location with a special service for prestige cars, this is the number for that service :[phone].

Let me know how you get on, I will have to rent something there myself shortly.
