996 GT3: A Proud Owner!
Discussion
Well after 4 years and 2 E46 M3's, I have finally changed brand and bought myself a 996 GT3 from my local OPC. It has only been a couple of days but so far so good. My car is a Mk2 on an October 2003 plate and has had 2 previous owners and covered just £6K miles. It seems like it has been a Sunday car for both owners and has never been tracked. It is Silver with Black Leather and has aircon and cd/radio.
I have wanted something more raw again and felt the GT3 was a good mix for fun and normal road use. It will be my day to day transport and I plan to take it on a few excursions across Europe to sample some of those circuits we all know so well!
I will post some pics when I get time but I am now a part of the club and will be looking for help and support as I get to grips with a very special car.

Bedford does sound like fun but I have meetings all day in London, bummer!
Thanks for all the kind words and I need to have a nose around the track day schedule as I think the track is a good place to get me up to speed quickly in a car that is very different to my M3's. Never had a Porsche before, though I have driven many, but the whole weight balance thing needs practice. I can hustle a front engined rear drive saloon as quick as most, the GT3 will need playing in to a much greater extent, but then that is the whole point and why I bought it.

Congratulations, Goldtrack are holding an evening meeting on August 3rd at Silverstone (Full grand Prix Circuit - Baptism of fire!!!). For £135 you get open pit from 5pm until 8pm. Never too many cars and you should be OK on noise. Check with Malindi or Callum re availability. 01327 361361.
Always a good crowd, lots of porsches and I'll be there in my Mark 1.

That sounds ideal as I have driven Silverstone (the old one!) in the past. Wide, smooth and safeish, might be worth a blast on that one. I will be the one in the Silver GT3 with white knuckles and a worried look shouting "keep away I tell you, keep away!"
Well done!!! I bought a MK1 GT3 in late march, totally standard.
It's the best thing I have ever bought or driven!
I went up to Parr's in Crawley to see about servicing etc.......
Be very careful......there are a lot of lovely mods you can do, which they were delighted to expalin to me today!!! (left with a fist full of brochures!!)
Good luck with the car. My first trackday round Brands was a revelation earlier this month. The car was a lot more forgiving than I thought it would be, and sooooooo nice. The noise is spine tingling!!
You'll love it. ( mine's red though...... Too many bloody silver cars around already!)

You can't miss me..............speed yellow (yellow definately, speed - well that's a matter of opinion!!).
Look forward to meeting you. It's my first time out in the GT3 so should be a laugh.
