I am just wondering why all the RHD 997 handbrakes are not on the drivers side like all the LHD?

Do you think Porsche are saving cost on that?

They're in the middle - so not on the driver's side...?!

It is on the L side of the 'transmission' tunnel. It is a bit inconvenient for your passenger.

Was the same on the 996. Of course you could argue it is out of the way when changing gear, and you could also argue that it doesn't matter

What I find more annoying is the smaller fuel tanks on some RHD 911s. Presumably because the steering rack gets in the way and they don't want to put fuel fillers etc on the other side.

Don't you think the handbrake is too far away from the driver on the RHD cars?

Is that mean the RHD 911 is lighter than the LHD 911 due to the smaller fuel tanks?

Do you use the handbrake regularly on those tight turns, then?
I can see that would be a real problem...
