Hi

I've noticed that my car (996 c4)has a circular 'disc' like thingy wired and added to the dash. It's grey, about 30mm dia and got Nokia on it and the outside edge of it rotates (bit like a wheel rotating around the inner core). Going by the Nokia tag, I take it that it's something to do with mobile phones but haven't the faintest what exactly it does or more importantly how it does it?!). I have a CDR22 fitted and it occasionally comes up with a message saying "phone". If I can use my mobile via this thingy then I'd like to. Any help greatly appreciated!

its a simple Nokia incar blue tooth kit (probably a CK-7W or similar)

find the device with your phone and when you get incoming calls or go to make calls it will mute the stereo

hi there

just search for bluetooth devices with your phone....

Then when it locates the car kit as previously said probably nokia ck-7w just pair it with the phone...

It will ask for pass code enter 0000 for the code if this fails try 1234.

Then youre set.

everytime you key on the ignition it will connect to your phone automatically.

The dial that turns is the volume control and the button can answer/end calls.

if you press it 2 times it will dial the previous dialled number in your phone and if by chance you have not connected with your phone while the car is running ie you left phone in the house and nip back in to get the phone just press and hold button for 3 seconds and it will connect to your phone again.

Hope this helps.

You may also need a Nokia phone to work properly with this blue tooth kit. My old Disco came with the same kit and it was very noisy when paired with a Motorola phone. It worked, just lots of background noise experienced by people calling in.

When we bought the P38 it had no Bluetooth kit so we had one fitted. I mentioned to the fitter the noise problems we had pairing with the Nokia and according to him Nokia design the kit so that it will not work as effectively on other manufacturers phones. He fitted a Motorola kit in the RR and it has been perfect with no noise at all.
