A tried out the porsche tyre pump on the 944 yesterday. Plugged into the lighter and turned on but no go ! Are they repairable, I could not see any fuse.

Thanks

Dunno, but it has reminded me to try mine - thanks!

If it doesn't work, try taking it apart (ensure that the cigarette lighter is working BTW) and check systematically. See what you find - nothing to lose.

Silly question but are you sure the lighter isn't ignition switched on your car?

I checked the lighter socket was on. I'll give it another go later, but i have an old halfords unit to carry as a back-up for now.

Maybe the tyre pump blew the lighter fuse?

The rheostat/switch fails when it gets damp.
Cut the wires either side of the switch and remove it. Join the two wires together then try it.
This nearly always works.

I still need to look at this again. Fitted a new cd player on Saturday and took a spin to Duxford on Sunday with the roof out. Great in the morning but roasting coming home ! Must get A/C in next car !!!
