street legal 993 supercup?

I drive a '95 993 supercup and would like to register the car to be able to join in on club-sport events in Germany. Can anybody give me a hint if a registration could be possible in the UK? My mechanic has told me that legalizing "race-cars" for street use in the UK is done rather liberally. I´d be grateful for any offered help / information on this issue. In Germany it obviously is impossible to register the car due to new E.C. regulations. Thank you in advance, Christian

I believe you need to speak to Melv - he's road registered a 964 cup

Also try Johnnywishbone on 07000 997997. They have registered a 993 RS/R to be road legal.

Thank you for your first ideas.
The 964 could be registered in Germany ,too. When sold, these cars all had a "Wagenpass" (race log book) + the "Fahrzeugbrief" (registration paper) issued by Porsche. The 993s never where sold with the "Brief", this is my actual problem today.
How can I call Johnny Wishbone? From Germany it is impossible to dial an 0700 number?

Its just a matter of SVA, you can get a list of requirements from DVLA, We have done four Porkers this year already including; one race car, one historic & 2 UAE imports (boxster & 993)
Budget around £1500 - 2K for cats, lights, seat belts, tyres etc etc, ( it may be more if you have plastic windows etc ?? )

erm, not sure about that - the car needs to comply with certain regs even if it over 10 years old

have recently had to jump through those hoops to get my C10 spec car registered in the UK

Thank you for the first information. What is: SVA & DVLA? The car I´m driving is a "real" racer, it does have cats and some sort of muffler (~103dB). But the rest is pretty empty and lightweight (e.g. side and rear window are all plastic, big rear wing,...) Who could help with an exact description of what is expected?
