I have ridden in one on the Le Mans Bugatti circuit. The performance is utterly mind boggling. A number of GT3 RS's were on the track at the time and some of them were being driven pretty quickly. The Carrera GT made them look very pedestrian. The sound is very special, low flying F16 comes to mind. Maybe the black one was being driven by a wooossss?
Ride in one and you'll want to win the lott-a-ree!
Our friends Carrera GT is the only Fayence Yellow one in the UK and it gets used properly.
I see from the heading LF06W** that the number plate was very ordinary and non too memorable. I always feel that's a shame on such a special car. I have the plate "V10 GT"which would be the ultimate plate for this car. I either need to save up heavily, win the loootery, rob a bank or sell the plate to someone who has one !
Had a lap of Porsche's FIA track at Leipzig in a yellow one not long ago, with one of the factory's test drivers at the wheel and I think it's safe to say he was driving it at least 9/10ths. My legs are still shaking.
Anyone who thinks these things are quiet needs their ears testing. At Leipzig there were two tearing around the track at the same time and it was a simply stunning sight and sound - I'll never forget it. Almost any car is quiet at a moderate speed but when a CGT really goes for it, there's nothing road legal to touch it in the sonic department.

One of Total 911's publishers was with me at Leipzig and he had a 'take it or leave it' approach to the Carrera GT. Funny, because when he got out of the car after a mental lap of the track he was visibly shaken. I've got a photo of him and he looks like he's either just seen a ghost or discovered the meaning of life.
The Carrera GT is the greatest supercar ever made - of that there is no doubt. I've seen a silver one on Anglesey a couple of times recently and the thing had enormous road presence without being vulgar or ostentatious and I'm personally glad that Porsche built as many as they did because the changes of seeing, hearing and even experiencing one are that much greater.
In the past week I spent a day driving a 993 GT2 which was utterly awesome but for raw, nerve shredding terror, my lap in a CGT will take some beating. It's something everyone should experience at least once.
