Windscreen Repair
Discussion
I've got a crack in the bottom left area of the windscreen of my Cayenne, about the size of a penny coin edge to edge. Passed an MOT with no advisories.
Heated glass so want it repaired rather than replaced. Which of the national (and less well known) glass companies can repair to a high standard? Who have you used before with success?

I cracked the screen of my 997. Obviously not the same issue as yours, but a warning non the less.
Autoglass fitted a new one - the GPS failed to work, so they came back and tried again.
So fair enough, problem found and sorted.
However, the rubber trim sat proud and the fitter told me they all sit proud as they are squished badly in the box the screens come in. He showed me a box and a new screen and said after a while in the warm sunlight it would soften up and sit properly.
Stupidly I believed him. All summer I waited for this miraculous softening. It never happened. Then when it rained in the winter the rain got in-between and made an odd noise. I could also hear wind noise the whole time.
Of course by now Autoglass didn't want to know.
I ended up getting my local specialist to refit the screen.
Next time I will just get my specialist to sort the screen, not Autoglass. You should be able to insist with your insurer that you don't want Autoglass to do it. I rang my insurer and they said going forward that would be fine.
