Hello

Dan anyone recommend insurance companies for a Porsche GT4 please? I have 6 points for SM90 which I believe stands for Serial Murderer and 90 victims by the quotations I have been getting. I have never had issues with insurance but recently renewing my insurance has been a shock. The quotes have been £1300-4k.

Also I have been offered an allocation for a Gt4 RS but insurance is holding me back. Firstly Porsche insurance said they wouldn’t insure me because my hose doesn’t have a garage. I then told them I can park the car in a garage with electric door within a family home surrounded with electric gate and six foot wall. Porsche insurance said my points are ok but the garage is 12 miles from my house and too far away from my residence. What about owners of Gt cars in storage????

Anyone recommend a reasonable insurance company please?

Hello

Not a GT car but a 72 reg Audi R8 Quattro Performance, the best quote I got by quite a margin was from Admiral. It came out at £665 down from £890 because I said I would insure another car with them in 4 months time. The other quotes were over £2K. Now I have 30 plus years NCD and live in a rural area and keep the car on my drive. So, it might be an idea giving Admiral a go to see what their quote comes out like.

Mine went up 1k to £ 3,600 , no changes , just you live in London story , garaged , CCTV , Vodphone , no posts , max no claims ...just London . Not bothered about track days anymore . Could be worse if I owned a Range Rover

Lots of unknown variables, years NCB, location, age etc etc.

To put it into context, 53, 15 years protected no claims, no tracker, not garaged £600 per year with Admiral I think for mine.

.....Can I have your RS allocation please? Well, if you don't ask you don't get :-)

42 years old. 15 years no claims. 6 points MS90 in 2022 and car garaged. It doesn’t seem so bad does it??

MS90's are hated by insurers as they are usually doled out after an accident and the insurer gets left holding a big bill they can't get out of because the policyholder has refused to furnish driver details, its up there with IN and DD convictions.

Not sure you're going to get a price you like on a GT car.

6 points and a MS90 wow so possibly 9 or 12 in reality. You should have just said you had an epileptic fit and couldn't remember.

Any luck on the usual comparison sites?

I tried a few ‘specialist’ insurers as well as one company recommended enthusiastically by Porsche Club GB - all were 3-4x the price of the usual mainstream companies on a BGTS4.0.

Have you tried Henderson Taylor?

Great broker, personal service and decent pricing I've found.

hmmm MS90 - failing to give clear id..... not liked by insurers as it paints an unpleasant picture of the client, what would they expect in the event of a claim!!
