I was driving in my local area on Friday and to my surprise saw a GT1 sitting in a queue of traffic.
Sadly I didn't manage to snap a picture as I was driving. It was silver and left hand drive.
Doubt i'll ever see one again in the wild, but how rare are they? The valuation for GT1 these days seem to be anything from £2M - £10M?

Supposed to be 2 993 headlight cars, 20 with 996 lights, and one with bespoke lights to homologate the GT1 Evo that lives at the Porsche Museum. At least one racer was converted to road spec though and as far as I know all are LHD. Most were silver. The last one through a public auction fetched $6m in the mid 2010s, they usually get sold privately. Maybe $10m by now? That's about what the equivalent CLK-GTRs are up for.
There is a bloke in the UK with two of them.

I have seen the light metallic blue one at Reading after they repainted it. I have a feeling that this was originally yellow and if so it is the only GT1 I have ever seen on the road. That must be back in maybe 2005 in the South of France. I have seen two race car GT1's in a two different friends shops.

Correct, the yellow one originally from France was sold via Trofeo Cars. Now it's Cobalt Blue and owned by FossilFurious.

Yes there was often one in silver (early car with fixed windows 993) that is/was owned by Harry Laventis, used to be at the 'ring and Spa on the Wheel torque days with their 288 Evoluzione and silver F50 on slicks.
I was going to should have bought that car,but went cgt instead. It was chassis number 001!I looked at the car at reading and saw the estimated rebuild invoice from weisach for the engine, gearbox and brakes, made running a cgt look cheap.

I can remember popping in to Donnington on the off chance when I was passing in the early 2000s and those three cars were having their own private trackday. Staggering considering the combined value now!Cheib said:
I don't remember it having the red decals on at the time. Cheib said:
