I’m just back from a RUf factory visit in Pfaffenhausen. The attention to detail on the new RUf models is extraordinary. The carbon fibre tub and carbon fibre bodywork are works of art.
With the RUF SCR starting at €950,000, and with production numbers about to increase as the factory expands to meet demand, I’ve been wondering what might happen to the values of the classic aircooled RUFs like the 930 based 3.4 BTR? There have been a couple of sales recently on Collecting Cars around the £200k mark. As the company’s cheapest production cars approach $1,000,000, will this lift the future values of the older cars?
Are there other comparable companies that can be used as a precedent?
