Owning a Porsche means you're having a mid life crisis
Discussion
Bought my 986S just before my 43rd . . . so this figures!
Ignores the fact that I've been obsessed with Porsches since I was knee-high to a grasshopper though. If pesky houses, kids, dogs etc. hadn't got in the way I'd have bought one a lot sooner.
I see the MX5 is way down at 17. Which makes sense as I first had that midlife crisis aged 25.

There's some truth to it, although my guess is that most people wait until later in life for financial reasons.
If you could have afforded a Porsche at 20, then you'd have bought one.
The thing that rubs me the wrong way about the article is the cliché about buying a Boxster because you can't afford a 911. Everyone knows the only convertible Porsche should be a Boxster.
