I have a 1 year old baby, a wife and a dog. We have (amongst others) a 911.1 GT3 CS and a 2022 SVR.

I have recently thought about getting rid of both and getting a 23 turbo GT (UK). I'm worried re depreciation in comparison to my GT3 and whether or not I'll miss the GT3.

I drive it once a month, pretty much same with my SVR. But the idea of having an all round car with the handling, speed and performance of the GT3 (kind of) excites me.

I'm worried about depreciation, however in the UK they stopped them and are now selling a cayenne turbo with a GT package which is a hybrid, so I'm not sure if this will actually help?

Feedback would be appreciated, I did drive the TGT and thought it was stupidly quick... not the same thrill factor or look factor, but it'll be a family super car and saves me money on multiple cars tax, insurance etc. I also never track cars, so there's that...

I’ve had a number of GT3s, 2 SVRs, and numerous Ferraris. Currently driving a Turbo GT. Best car I’ve ever owned. Does everything.

Nice to know that you've had similar cars (I've never had a Ferrari, mind). Great to know a TGT is well loved, I've only ever heard great things. I love my GT3 but it hardly gets driven, so I'd rather go in to one car.

I've owned a PTS TGT.

There has to be negatives to a car, that's me, ill tell it how it is..

I found the lack of Pan roof a real off put

Also the lack of middle rear seat again, was a major off put.

Every time i took out just couldn't help but battered the s*** out of it !

Good car all-round, i wouldnt be personally buy one at the moment as i know there a tough sell in the current climate

I have has all the punchy Cayenne's prior to the TGT i had a Coupe turbo and TBH, that really was a great car, then prior to that a Turbo-S E-Hybrid, that was a great car of a tank!

I was going to pull the ping on a new Turbo with GT pack but lack of rear middle seat has put me off the coupe so ill pall till Porsche sort their act out and allow a poxy middle seat!

Drive It and see if you like it. Never driven either but I am fairly sure an SVR will not see which way it went.

It will lose money so will your GT3 and SVR in this environment. GT3's are awesome cars but unless you actually use it and drive it at somewhere close to what it is capable of some of the time there are better cars to own. I've had mine for five years....love it but I make a point of doing two or three trips/events in it when it gets used a year.

Just got back from driving a G63, they look great but personally prefer my SVR for the drive.

Now time to properly test a TGT.

TGT is very different from the SVR. More like a cross between a normal Cayenne and a GTC4Lusso! Probably closest like for like is a Purosangue (which I haven’t driven) or maybe a Urus, but never been a fan of them.

Interesting dilemma.

I picked up a 2017 (the louder, preface, one) SVR in 2021, with 5k miles from a chap who didn't drive it.
I tuned it and have enjoyed it ever since. Power wise, it lacks nothing. Comfort wise, its superb. To date, not a single issue (touch wood). The SVR is the family hauler. It does not get driven daily and currently sits on 13k miles. I also have a 2023 GT4 - and that's my weekend toy.

To your point, I love the idea of the TGT - but cannot reconcile in my mind the approx price tag of £165k...on paper, SVR does similar/same things at a fractional price point. Yes its older, a RR - can break down or be stolen blag blah...but coming from SVR - is the upgrade huge enough to justify the price premium. In my mind - no.

Unless you have lots of spare change that you want to throw away, if you're not driving and enjoying the car a lot - is it worth buying a TGT..only to look at it? I would prefer to look at the GT3 if im honest. :-)

Good luck and let us know your final decision!

Must admit, I’m leaning towards keeping my cars.

Don’t like the idea of parting with my GT3, it’s pretty safe money… and I want to take it on some long drives next year if I do keep it.

Not to mention, I do actually love my SVR. After driving the G63 and TGT, the SVR’s interior is a different league. Much nicer place to be (again, my opinion).

Keep what you’ve got.

SVR can basically do what the TGT does.
TGT cannot do what a GT3 does.

The Turbo GT is a wonderful machine. I’ve had two Cayenne Hybrids (V6 & V8) which were great the TGT is on another level.
Ok so no Pan roof or middle seat - not an issue for me.
If you’re careful the MPG will creep up to 24 on a run, but usually around the 19/20 mark.

I’m all over the place at the moment with family planning and chopping and changing..
I would add that the facelift Cayenne is a massive step up imho in interior and also looks a lot sharper.
Im thinking of speccing up a v8 S which comes to just over £100k and should deliver a great car.
Granted nowhere near as capable as TGT but whilst I loved the SVR back in day, bit old now
