Does your under 15 Year Old Porsche have an OPC warranty?

Simple question for owners of Porsche cars that qualify for the OPC warranty, do you have it?

Yep.
Car: 981 CGTS
Reason: Dynamic engine mounts primarily - they go with reasonable regularity and are over a grand a corner. PDK failures seem rare, and failures of the 3.4 F6 rarer still, but I track it a fair bit, and I figure the £600 odd per year is an acceptable price to pay for peace of mind when I'm slamming up and down the PDK, working the engine hard, and so on.

Finally, when I do come to sell it, perhaps it having an OPC warranty might be a slight benefit.

I've had my 67 reg 991.2 over 6 years and was originally going to extend the warranty, but Porsche didn't contact me about it when the time came to do so, and I just forgot.

I've always had it serviced at the OPC and the car is relatively low mileage and in good condition, so I'm pretty relaxed about it (as I type that, worry that I'm tempting fate...)

Yes. 2015 car bought from OPC.

Paid for itself many times over.

Probably depends on the exact dates, it would presumably have to expire before the car is 15 years old?

Yep - would always warranty the cars for the duration of I own them - and make sure they have a warranty when I sell them too, as it gives the new owners peace of mind

Yes the wording was "Warranty available up to 14 years from purchase date" but obviously the final year would take you to 15 inclusive.

I voted No, but having read the thread it is inapplicable as the car was just over 14 years old on the date of purchase.

13 years old and no longer under warranty, mainly because how do you tell if the problem is a warranty failure or just wear and tear for a worn out part?

It is an easy get out for the warranty provider.

Nope. '16 GT3RS track car, run for me by RPM Technik. Neither warranted by nor serviced by an OPC.

No, 13 years old (car,not me) took it out of the warranty, and group servicing, when they started insisting on stupid stuff like the right brand tyre sealant to extend the warranty - plus the money i save with that, plus now using specialists, probably would cover 80-90% of warranty type issues if i have them - that said haven't had an issue in those 13 years of ownership....

Yes as I just bought it, I will take out the warranty again as I have already had to claim for new turbos on my 991.2

2017 Macan turbo

Gave up as only issues I have had won’t be covered as “cosmetic” on the extended one:

Pan roof drains blocked
Black PSE tips made of chocolate
Wheel centres corrosion

The main issue with Macans (transfer box) has a specific extended warranty from Porsche

Learnt the hard way as the water pump had to be replaced last week.

Never had a warranty on any car except those I’ve bought new and then never renewed. No warranty on my 997.2 or 981 Spyder and not needed. 10 year old defender bought new has never needed anything. Don’t have warranty on 10 year old X5 either. Not through having lots of money just a trust in regular maintenance, German engineering (largely) and mechanical sympathy!

You can be as sympathetic as you want, maintain a vehicle to the letter and rely on German engineering, that may well reduce the odds but things still go wrong with cars (or anything else) no matter how well treated they are. You have been lucky, simple as that, may it long continue.

I have warranty mainly for the engine and PDK, however, in the meantime other things have gone wrong which means at this point I am about evens. There isn't a right or wrong answer here, the only time you get to find out if a warranty was worth having is the day after you have sold the car.

I'd hope that if it had been maintained by a Porsche dealer from new, I'd get some contribution to any significant failure. I had that with a Land Rover recently where 90% of a gearbox fault was covered even though it was out of warranty.

My thinking too, but if it was Indy servicing or high mileage all bets would be off.
