Any Brits going? Planning a roadtrip later this year and booked this event as part of a journey through Spain & Portugal.

Haven't driven Portimao before so any tips would be appreciated!

You’re living my dream. I plan to do this programme.
Have you done the pre-requisite course? How did you find them?

I've driven Portimao once (this March). There are lots of blind crests and similar looking corners on entry that are completely different on exit.
The main braking zone on the front straight is tricky as well - it starts exactly as the car goes light over a crest, and is then fairly steeply downhill.
It takes some getting used to, but it's a great track!

Looks spectacular. Is this the €80k experience? Considering the extent of what's included I'm cautiously sensing that it's actually good value.

Aha! Seems cheap in comparison.

What a trip though... for the OP: ferry to northern Spain and then driving across and down to Portimao?

Out of curiosity are there any other options, different providers, similar to this though where you can turn up and drive, at other circuits in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria?

https://trackdays.events/en/

It's an aggregator for lots of trackday organisers in Europe. Obviously a Porsche Masters event is pretty high quality/class compared to some of the others.

I've used RSR (Spa), Pistenclub (Hockenheim), Freddy Barth (Dijon), TrackAttack (Portimao) and Motorsponsor (Estoril). They are all pretty good (but don't expect any "overtake only on the left" rules - these events are run closer to test days and you really have to be aware of what goes on around you...

Thanks MEP, have invested in a fairly rudimentary SIM to learn the circuit before going!

TDT- didn’t do the earlier courses, have history is circuit racing which approved me to sign up for this day

My next problem is break pads, the 992 GT3 don’t have the initial bite of the 991. Has anyone tried the PAGID RSC1, which have been recommended or Manthey pad?

Ok yep - I wondered that - if you have other relevant experience - then you could bypass their prerequisite courses.

Ref pads - I'm running RSC1 with Surface Transform rotors on my GT4 - so can imagine they will work well enough with OEM PCCB rotors - minus MR tax!.

Thanks, have enquired to see if they can be fitted at the track, will make sure I share photos from the day!
