911 997 cab car cocoon
Discussion
Morning, I've been searching for a decent cocoon for my garaged 997 cab (Nov-Feb). Had to spend a few £££'s on the underbelly and exhaust system last year as my garage is a big wooden shed and gets damp during the winter causing rust to all the brackets and heat shields which had to be replaced.
I think I def want a plastic zip tight one with fans to circulate the air and keep it dry.
Anyone use one that they would recommend as there are so many out there starting at £200- £££'s?
Cheers in advance.

Used Carcoon for many years on cars. There are a couple of things to consider on different models. There are self supporting on a frame (similar to tent) you drive in and out and stays in situ. More expensive and a pain if you want to move / break down or store in summer. Then the self inflating ones that use positive pressure, if you are putting in over winter and not using car regularly this is the one. You can fold up and put away in a relatively small space or box for safe keeping.
Both keep car dry and dust free with filtered circulating air. Never done it but you put away wet and the circulating air will dry and expel moisture.

I've used an indoor Carcoon for 4 years. They recommend not to store the car 'wet' and to dry the car as much as you can before storing although it does have a drying vent. I would say never store it wet as the internal frame on mine rusted badly where it was in contact with the wet floor. Learned my lesson and renewed the problem poles and drive it less in the wet. My 997 is pretty clean underneath apart from brake line clips and water coolant pipe connections which may or may not have deteriorated storing it.. N.b also change the filters periodically as recommended.
