Hey guys

While trying to purchase all sorts of cleaning products from Gliptone (LiquidLeather) I got stuck at "which product is appropriate and which one isn't". So I emailed them, asking which products they reccomend for my Cayenne. Original email follows:

"PORSCHE CAYENNE 2012, full leather seats (perforated) - black, with leatherette on the back of the seats, recently cleaned by the car-park which sold it to me...I doubt they used real leather-cleaning products.

Please advise which products I need from your store (I do not want to dye anything afterwards, I just want to get them cleaned)

- Should I use GT12 or GT15 for cleaning?
- Should I use GT11 or GT13.5 for conditioning?
- Should I use GT10 for the dashboard and other vinyl items inside the car? Or should I look at the AUTOMATE range of products for cloth and vinyl cleaners?"

To this...they replied that I have to tell them the exact type of leather in my Cayenne...and that if I don't know, I should ask the manufacturer. Like that's doable.

So...I am asking you guys for some help...maybe someone at some point figured this one out.

Below I have a few pictures of my interior...it's the standard black perforated leather, nothing fancy. Also, regular dashboard (not leather-wrapped).

I have the same seats in Carrera Red leather in a 2013 Cayenne. I use GT12 for cleaning and GT11 for conditioning. Get the seats warm and use some elbow grease. I use a soft scrubbing brush for the initial application of the GT12.

I've used these two products on many cars for years, however they don't work too well on dashboards, or my wife's 2015 3 Series. Must be different finish on the leather.

For the Cayenne dash, to maintain the uniform matt finish I use Gtechniq C6. It also maintains a crisp matt finish on the lower dash and console switches. Most of the time the doors just need a wipe, but I've used C6 on the top panels of the door cards.

Good luck !

Ok, thanks for the info smile

On the description of the Gtechniq C6 it says it should be used every 6 months...

Is there another good dashboard cleaning product that can be used weekly and will not damage anything and have a nice matte finish?

Gtechniq I2 Tri-clean.

On a side note you shouldn't use leather conditioner on modern coated leather finishes - it is counter productive as it just sits on the surface and attracts dirt.
Much better to use a leather protector along the lines of Dr Leather Dye Block or Gyeon q2 leather shield.

cheers
