Hi all, this is my first enquiry for advice. Does anyone know if I could change the key to keyless entry / start on my 2004 boxster S. I’ve seen some on eBay and they seem ok but just wondered if anyone out there had bought this & fitted it. Thanks .

Have you seen generic push start buttons or a kit specifically for Porsche?

Hi, thanks for the reply. It’s a generic one from eBay. I didn’t know I could get one from Porsche. The one I have seen is a kit with two remotes wiring & the push button start. I’m trying to update my car. Any advice would be very welcome, thanks.

Keyless entry opens you up to additional security vulnerability. I speak from experience.

There are issues in general with Keyless Entry/Start systems, even factory fitted ones. For a start they rely on proximity between key/car restricting access, which can be overcome unfortunately :/

Additionally I don't find them particularly useful. Keys are just way to bulky for current fashion of relatively tight fitting trousers/jeans. Ok for my wife with her handbag, but I just end up putting the key in the cup holder (wish they left the key slot in biggrin ). Only place where I really find keyless entry useful is kick to open the boot.
