Lowering a 997
Discussion
There's this thread but my questions are different
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=967...
The OP in that post wanted to fit just lowering springs and hoped to get better handling. I want no worse handling (stiffer's fine, but it needs to steer the same) and am happy to spend a bit to get it (so not lowering springs). I have the Gen2 3.6 without PASM and I love the car, but I make no apology for not liking it sat quite so high. I only want say a 20mm drop, I don't want to hit every little speed hump.
The thread talks about talking to experts but just wondering what they might suggest before I get that deeply into it.

35mm sounds like a lot, they must be stiff as anything. Anybody here driven a 997 dropped that low?
The ohlins seem affordable considering, if they do ride that well.
Edit: I've read about the odd 997 dropped 35mm, sounds like a disaster as I suspected. Definitely looking at 20mm as per sport PASM.

Indeed, my '05 Carrera S is lowered on eibach springs. It doesn't look particularly low UNTIL it's parked next to a standard car. To me, it looks 'right' rather than dumped/stanced/bagged etc.
Bagged? Thats a new one on me!g7jhp said:
