Talking to the salesman at my OPC yesterday about a new 991.2 GTS, he said there is likely to be a price rise in May - says he has no idea what rise there will be if any.

Has anyone else heard this? Any talk on the PH jungle drums?

I suppose an inflationary price rise (May is when they do it apparently) is to be expected, what concerns me is will they slap a much larger increase on us due to the weaker pound.

Offcourse - like with everything else which is importet to the country unless Porsche chooses to take lower profit margins (unlikely).

There's been much speculation. Looking elsewhere 5% seems reasonable guesstimate (In other industries like consumer electronics price rises of up to 20% are possible) As far as I remember your price isn't locked in until the car leaves the factory gates so good chance a 991.2 GTS ordered now could be impacted. If it's a real problem you should probably have a discussion with your OPC about what happens to your deposit if you choose not to take the car if they increase the price/worth reading the small print.

Porsche are selling every car they can make and as we all know don't have to rely on discounting to shift metal...they are thus much better positioned than a lot of car manufacturers to increase prices.

I think it will be between 5 and 10%.

The weak pound coupled with a strong product is only going to lead one way!

Also don't forget come May the new cars will be hit by changes to the car tax system.
So whilst this one affect list price it may impact the running costs
