Cabriolet hood

Stupid question alert but worth asking. It rained earlier and is now sunny. Can I put the hood down and drive or do I need to wait a day for the hood to fully dry out.

Just don't want to cause any damage, as I've only had it a few weeks!

You'll be fine to dive it with the roof down after a shower.
Look into having the hood treated with a water repellent. It'll bead up and dry off quickly rather than getting saturated when it rains. It'll stay clean for longer too

Thanks for the advice. Is this something u can do myself or need to take to OPC/Detailer?

You can do it yourself if you have somewhere under cover to let the roof dry afterwards.
The roof needs a good scrubbing and rinse, allow it to fully dry and then a couple of coats of protectant and let it settle - ideally over night if you can.

If that's not possible, I'd recommend using a detailer rather than Porsche. You'll get a more thorough job and pay less.

So simple to do yourself. Lots of products on the market. I use Fabsil and brush it on and leave to dry in the sun. It's dry within hlaf an hour on a spring day.
