GT Porsche Track Day - any good?
Discussion
Hi all, long term lurker, first time poster here...
Has anyone on here been to the GT Porsche track day at Brands before? It looks like decent enough, just wanted to gauge opinion if anyone has experience.

Done it a couple of times. To be honest I have found it slightly frustrating. Because it is a Porsche-only day it tends to bring out more inexperienced drivers who would be too nervous to do a mixed day. The result is that you end up with a lot of "point and squirt" specialists who tend to be less good at using mirrors and less appreciative that someone on their rear bumper at the apex is probably going quicker than them over the course of a lap. Such is the nature of Brands Indy that it can be difficult to get past "big power" cars (it always seems to be Turbo cab drivers !), which ends up causing potentially dangerous queues.
This is, of course, a bit of a generalisation and they are otherwise friendly, sociable events. By mid afternoon the crowds will have thinned out and you will have plenty of clear track time.
