The hunt for a 997 Turbo
Discussion
Looking at the two 997 Turbos at £52k on the Porshe website. One is a year newer,m but has 18k more on the clock. Does this matter?
Also few questions is I may:
Do 997 Turbos have xenons standard?
What is service schedule?
How good is Porsche warranty? Understand it's now up to 15yrs
Thanks!

I guess the mileage/age conundrum is best resolved based on whether you intend to keep it a long time or not, and how often you intend using it. And the current actual mileage on each of them.
If keeping it a long time and not going to be used daily go for the low mileage one, down the line a year won't matter as much as the mileage come resale time.
Then again if you are going to be seriously racking up the miles perhaps the later one is the best bet as at least it will have that slight bonus of lesser age, once the mileage has become high to the point that 18k miles difference is not that meaningful at all.

I'd go for condition/properly maintained over age or mileage with this type of car. They can be expensive things to run.
Have to say though it's not the most engaging car to drive once you get past the initial turbo rush. I never really clicked with mine. Probably not what you want to hear but do go for a long test drive to work it out for yourself.

The OPC warranty is excellent. I had a C4S and over the two years I had nine jobs carried out under the warranty. No quibbles and car collected and delivered back. (or a loan car) It would have been a very expensive car to run without the warranty. The OPC car may be more expensive but the warranty will be worth it.

Shouldn't really need it but that's a different story.Buy on condition every time.
