Found a gift on my car after returning from shopping

I have returned to my GTS after a spot of shopping to discover a rather serious looking chip / dent. The photo doesn't really do it justice how nasty it is. I can only assume someone has accidentally slammed their trolley into my car. It definitely wasn't there this morning, I doubt that it could have happened on the drive. Anyway, dear PHers, I was just wondering if any of you had an idea of the cost I will incur getting the damage repaired? It's above the passenger side rear lights. Just trying to get an idea to help myself brace the financial impact.

If it was being done pre-sales by a OPC they would probably use a smart repair company like chips away for less than £200.....
This was what they did to this on my 997 Turbo when I traded it in, you could not tell any different when completed.

That's a real shame.

Beware that the quality of 'smart repairs' varies enormously. Those used by OPCs are largely excellent, but many others I wouldn't trust to creosote a fence

Possibly not OP's manor but http://www.f1dents.co.uk very good and did impossible job on a Mini for me once.

Never been able to get creosote for years man...

They run out each winter when the use creosote to make cough sweets.

I had a dent repaired by the paintless method, and the job was perfect, but , it all depends on whether the paint has actually been broken through or not.
If the paint is split open, then the method I had done won't work.
The cost was £54 inc vat and I couldn't fault it.
