Original mk1 Cayenne iPod connector

Hi guys, what's the options for connecting an iPod to an early non sat nav cayenne ?
Car has the cd changer in the boot, which I believe is connected via fibre optic cable ? Either way I wouldn't want to take it out or do away with it.
Can I use one of the Becker iPod connectors and still have the cd changer ? I seem to recall it uses the same connection on the head unit.

Its a tequipement retrofit item. The chap who owned my car paid around £900 odd installed. Expensive but works a treat though I think he did this as car had porsche warranty.

Think it will have to be the lead out the back job then, will have to pull out and take a look, I was hoping someone had already done the job and could confirm.
Its only for the odd ski trip and summer holiday so not paying £900 ....

try one of these. I have it in my cayenne and it works fine. You may have to retune it occasionally to cope with FM interference but it works very well and a lot less than 900 quid!

Thanks guys, I did wonder about one of those mobile phone Bluetooth connectors.
What's the set up in the photo ? Lead out the back of the head unit into the Center armrest ?

Is the iPod controlled completely by the head unit ?

No it actually just works via aux fm channel. Everything controlled from ipod except volume. Prehaps there were limitations on early pcm however the sound quality is very good.

Hi Guys, just an update, I ordered one of these from Amazon, came within a few days.
I connected up and tried on the car at the weekend and have to say it seems really good, I note the std frequency used is very close to BBC radio 2 and thought this would drown it out but so far so good, you also have the option to adjust the frequency but have not tried this as yet.
For £37 odd this seems a pretty good idea especially as It will only be for long journeys such as skiing at half term and the summer holidays, its not really my car and to be honest the option of pulling out the head unit and using a lead didnt really appeal, a lead would be what £10 anyway, I use the becker lead and magic box on my other car but they are circa £150 from memory, think I paid £50 on ebay from memory, so so far so good ....
