High Milage tuned 997 turbo?

As a car to buy & keep, having allegedly been rebuilt 30k miles ago and highly modded, the price would be a bargin for someone?

thats not really highly modded though you would need to find out who has done the tune, exactly which turbos are on there blowing out 640bhp and which exhaust it is. lovely car at first glance

Storm Developments, I think. Tucked away in the ad, it says the car was owned by a director of Storm and all work was done by them. Not heard of them myself.

I assume you are referring to the chap that bought it from Andy (md of Storm Developments)

An engine rebuild 30k ago is certainly a positive, but at 140k miles, there's a lot more things that could be on their last legs and likely to be very pricey to replace

Yes, thats a bit strange if its a 2006. Why put another pp on it?

Having seen a few examples of their custom VW builds I'd have thought Storm Devlopments would be capable of building such a car but I very much doubt this Porsche is.

its not cheap. Trade would be valuing this car at about £22k. My one owner 64,000 mile 997 turbo (with a new engine from factory under warranty a few thousand miles ago) was recently valued at £30k in part ex against a new 991 turbo! Cars that are up retail at £45k ish are maybe being bought for £30k ish i.e. 2006/7 cars with circa 30-50k miles. Does not mean they are making £15k per car though as to get them up to retail quality can easily cost £5k. Then if something major goes wrong many of theses specialist like RSJ, 911 Virgin,Paragon etc stand against anything going wrong for a period after the sale

Was a while back so I forget everything but something like:

1 - trade valued it at pittance due to mileage
2 - far more things could start going wrong at that mileage, all pricey
3 - you can get into a decent lower mileage for around 40k so not a great saving
4 - who are storm developments in the Porsche world
6 - sure I've seen it up from 3 different sellers, why is it being passed around?
7 - so on and so forth

Depending on who has carried work out and how car been driven not uncommon for Cam Chains to give out causing allot of damage .
