just bought myself a mini-Panamera

Dear All

I left the world of Porsche in September (hopefully temporarily). Jzm sold my blue Targa in September. Very very sad day. It sold in 2 weeks. Was in amazing condition...

I just replaced it with a car that really reminds me of the Panamera S I drove for a month when my Targa was being fixed.

It's a BMW M135i. 6 cylinder, 3l turbo, Rear wheel drive, 0-62 in 4.5, ZF auto. Very modern rocketship feel, really reminds me of the Panamera for some reason, but this makes me smile because I have fond memories of hooning around in that car.

Anyway, if any of you in the market for a mini-Panamera I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Plus they are doing awesome deals on them at the moment.

I'm in a similar position in an M5 having a two year break from Porsche for the first time in 12 years. Still find myself on this forum!

Not sure about the exact handling of the Panamera, I was so scared of destroying the thing that I drove it quite carefully. But I put about 800 miles on it and certainly accelerated hard and stopped it a lot! I just didn't push it Too sideways...

It's the way it does it's business that is similar. Quiet, modern, smooth but totally brutal if your right foot says so. The steering etc feel really similar. The Panamera was just so much bigger that it was a stressful experience in London. The bmw is a pleasure in that regard.

My wife immediately said that it reminds her of the Pan from a passenger perspective.

Both cars have been severely beaten by the ugly stick............

I had a panda era as a courtesy car for a week - it was really great to drive, remarkably economical and, when driving it, I didn't have to look at it. I parallel parked it, walked away, looked back, thought, "hell, I've parked in the middle of the road." - it was way over the marked lines for the bay. Went back and found the near side wheels hard against the kerb - it's bigger than my X5, which is a real issue when trying to make progress on narrow Highland roads.
