Just saying hello picked up my new 2009 4s targa Pdk yesterday. Hmm incredible looks and wow to power. Hope to pick up some tips from you guys soon.

Congratulations on your purchase. They are fantastic and versatile.

I sold my gen ii 2009 997 Targa in September. Little piece of advice, get an OPC warranty on it asap and don't live without one. The Targa roof is expensive and time consuming to fix, so do yourself a favour. I have much experience...

But it's a great car.

Thanks, actually comes with opc warranty until August next year. So will have a look at it nearer the time.

Congratulations - I bought mine in July and still enjoy every mile and hope to do so for many years to come.
I'd agree with the extended warranty advice - I have had the inner blind fixed under warranty on mine (would retract, but the cloth wouldn't stow away - just hung down) and I've had two oxygen sensors replaced in the exhaust. That's just in 5 months and 3000 miles!

Just out if interest how much is the warranty or does it depend on lots of factors, eg excess , mileage etc

Porsche warranty is void once the car is sold to a non Porsche dealer.

Unless clinkards was selling the Targa as agent for (on behalf of) the original owner, the warranty won't transfer to you.

Not exactly true. There are ways to do it. Jzm managed to keep my warranty for the next owner without doing it as an agent.

You need to contact Porsche GB Customer Services and ask for the warranty to be transferred in your name. I think there's a 2-3 month grace period before it is allowed, they can confirm.

Not sure it can be under its original new car warranty, it's a 2009 car, 4yrs old.

factory warranty which is not subject to non Porsche dealer rule is valid for 2 years from date of registration

any warranty after that is an insurance policy subject to conditions.
