997.1 key fob not working

I thought I'd start a new topic.
I've bought one of these replacement gen 2 keys and then transferred the inner workings from the gen 1 key to it. The change over was relatively straightforward although the transponder part was a bit of a pain.
For some reason I can't remotely lock or unlock my boot using the new key. The red light flashes but that's it.
If I insert the key into the door it unlocks and the engine will start so I can use it physically but not remotely
Thoughts?

Was your original key a gen 1 two button key with buttons for the (front boot) frunk, and doors?
Do the doors unlock remotely?
It sounds like it may be related to the connections from the terminals to the circuit board. Check everything aligns correctly as the connections are quite sensitive.
Also
If car starts, then it would appear that your transponder is ok. So it's certainly something related to the circuit board.

The doors do not unlock remotely. I will check the terminals again.
The car starts which is why I assume the transponder is ok. I will take a further look.
